400D RECYCLED NYLON
Topo Designs uses for parts of this Bike Bag exterior, recycled 400D recycled nylon. This 400D nylon is a strong nylon with a urethane coating which gives it good tear resistance and is durable. It is suitable for tough tasks and wear and tear.
200D LIGHTWEIGHT RECYCLED RIPSTOP NYLON
To save weight Topo Designs uses 200D lightweight Ripstop Nylon. Ripstop nylon is a very lightweight, water-resistant nylon. Rip-stop nylon integrates a grid of thicker threads sewn directly into the nylon at close intervals. This urethane coated nylon ripstop fabric has a strong thread that goes up and across the fabric forming tear resistant squares. The addition of urethane coating makes this a strong yet lightweight waterproof fabric for many uses. This prevents the issue of ripping or unraveling if the nylon is punctured and also helps waterproofing. Ripstop is used in sails, parachutes, and hot air balloons and was originally developed in WW2 to replace silk parachutes. Recycled 200D Lightweight Nylon Ripstop is 10% lighter with tested equivalence in tensile strength and abrasion resistance than current 200D.
10 OZ VINYL TARP LINER
10 oz vinyl tarp is used for the lining. This fully coated, water resistant lining has a striking bright color. This makes the contents stand out more and you can better see what is at the bottom of the bag.
